Health Management Ltd - First Occupational Health Provider to rank in Sunday Times Fast Track 100
Occupational health provider, Health Management Ltd, is celebrating being ranked as one of the UK’s fastest growing businesses.
The East Sussex-based firm has achieved growth rates of 117% for the three years from 2003 to 2006. This ranks it 24th in this year’s Sunday Times survey of the UK’s fastest growing companies, positioning it as the first occupational health provider to appear in these league tables, which have now been running for 11 years.
Managing Director of Health Management Ltd, Andrew Noble (Ridgemount 81-86), said: “We are delighted to have been ranked so highly. It takes considerable effort to maintain and improve standards whilst growing the business at this rate, but we are passionate about the quality of our service. We are also well supported by a great team of doctors, nurses and customer service staff who are highly motivated and very professional.”
Health Management’s growth has been supported by several large contract wins this year, including the Olympic Delivery Authority, London Fire Service, City of London Police and three new FTSE 100 clients. The company employs one of the largest teams of consultant occupational health physicians in the UK and is recognised as a leading centre for specialist registrars training to become consultants. It has also established a reputation for delivering high quality occupational health services, retaining its clients and reducing sickness absence rates.

OSBA London Meeting held 27th September
This meeting was held at the office of SJ Berwin LLP by kind permission of Peter Anderson (S) 67-72.
The venue, a beautiful set of rooms overlooking the Thames on the north side of Southwark Bridge, was both beautiful and perfect for our needs.
After drinks and light refreshments, Sir Peter Davis gave us an excellent talk, followed by questions, with the title ‘Lessons from a Chequered Career’. As he has governed Reeds, Sainsbury’s and the Pru, amongst other companies, he was able to draw anecdotally on a highly interesting life, leaving Shrewsbury at 17 and working his way onwards and upwards through retailing and marketing. He had also worked on the New Deal with Gordon Brown in its early days, which proved an interesting topic during question time.
Oxford Old Salopians
The Old Salopian Club supported by the Old Salopian Business Association held a gathering at Vincents Club Oxford on November 20th
This was a successful meeting for those who attended, although numbers (especially from the Oxford Brookes students) were somewhat disappointing.
There were difficulties in making contact with the students (despite all methods used from email, Facebook and Royal Mail) and in view of this new ways to improve communications to enable more to participate will be considered.

Linda Wason
Those of you who have been long-term members of the OSBA will be sad to hear that Linda Wason, our first secretary has died.
During the last eighteen months she had faced with great courage and spirit the onset of serious cancer, including a trip round the world with Mike and surviving against all medical expectations!
Personally I shall miss her cheerful and sparky approach to the work in hand. Her enthusiasm was a big help in all that was involved in setting up the Business Association.
The thoughts of the Committee and all of us who knew her well go out to Mike, her husband.
Mike Eagar.
